We're so happy to be getting married in our home neighborhood, Lincoln Square! We've been living here together for most of our relationship. There are lots of bars, restaurants, and shops along Lincoln Avenue, across the street from DANK Haus! Just look for the distinctive archways.
Shop for European groceries and gifts at one of our favorite local small businesses, Gene's! You'll know it by the cow above the sign!
Another one of Chicago's most charming and welcoming neighborhoods, Andersonville, is just a short distance away. Check out one of Shannon's favorite independent bookstores, Women and Children First, grab a drink at Hopleaf, or visit countless other options for shopping and dining. We like walking to Andersonville through nearby Winnemac Park!
If you have a little more time on your hands and would like to spend time outdoors and/or enjoy a unique historical experience, the cemetery/nature preserve where Zach and Shannon got engaged is a fun place to explore. The beautiful cemetery, which is both Chicago's oldest and largest, is home to a herd of deer and the final resting place of Chicago luminaries like hot dog king Oscar Mayer.
Our nearby park, Winnemac Park, is gorgeous in the fall! There are prairie preservation areas and lots of looping walkways to wander.
